Music Video Research 2

"Sweat"Snoop Dog & David Guetta
I have chosen this music video showing women in a negative way because of the way he treats them. First of all in one of the scenes he has them trapped in a box for entertainment and to show off. He also makes it out that he is in charge of all of the women making him seem more powerful. The camera angles of the video back up this point as there are many high angle shots. There are also many cut offs and change of scene. This makes it feel crazy and crowded, it also makes uses this cut offs to show of the girls every so often.

"Ya names not down" -The Bouncer
For my first song i have chosen "Ya names not down" by the bouncer. I have chosen this music video showing women in a negative way, because through out the music video the rapper is treating the girls like a prop that is used to impress and show off to the audience. Some of the camera angles were mental and shaking showing that its crazy and out of control. The girls are wearing promiscuous clothing showing that they are dressed like it for the men. Another reason that the video might come across as crazy is there would be random flashing lights.

• There also low angle shots that make it feel like she's more powerful than the audience.

Analysis 2

I agree with this statement as there are many points that show it. For example in many rap videos the girls are always dancing and be controlled by the men. The girls are always dressed in promiscuous clothing and constantly being starred at by the men as if they are entertainment and have no other reason for them to be there. The  actually put a lot of effort into it to be apart of the rap music video industry but a lot of them are rejected for ridiculous reasons. For example sometimes they are rejected because of there colour or how big their boobs and bums are. Some of the girls spend thousands to make themselves look good just to be apart of something that in some cases, they don't get payed for. The girls spend money on things like boob and bum implants and sometimes plastic surgery. These are all of the things that the producers are looking for in a girl wanting to be apart of a music video.

Sometimes there are adverts that go around advertising some sort of music video and that they are in need of dancers. So any girl who wants to be apart turns up and there and then they are told wether they are wanted or not. But in some cases girls have turned up thinking they are there for a music video but instead they have been sexually abused.

Still, after going through all of this the girls in the music videos still come across as sexual playthings and eye candy. I personally don't see how girls like being seen and treated like it but some agree with whats going on. They say its what the audience like and at the end of the day they get payed so from their point of view everyones a winner.

Representation homework

I agree with all of these statements that are about hip hop music videos. In one of the statements it mentions that if they want to be a real man they have to be strong and tough, have lots of women and money. A lot of hip hop music videos have that feel to them as it is mainly just men with a lot of women, money and expensive items. For example in 50 cents video he spends his whole time either rapping in an expensive coat or leaning against a sports car. He is also rapping with a lot of women that seem to be controlled by him. In jayz's video theres a part were he is just throwing money in the air to other people as if he as millions to spare. At least one part of each video had the main rapper with his top of, showing that he is strong and tough. In jayz's video there is constant shots of this massive boat and in t-pains there is constant shots of these expensive clothes and cars.

Both of these hip hop videos give people the wrong idea in whats right and wrong. For example if someone made a lot of money and was interested in hip hop he would probably think that he is the best and everyone who has less than him should look up to him like he is the best, due to the amount of money he earns. This is one of the many points that hip hop music videos put across to other people watching. It gives people the wrong view on how to treat people and act when you are fortunate enough to have so much money. Another point is if a man has something wrong with him (either something medical or was just born with it) will never be able to get a girlfriend as he has to be very strong and well built, as hip hop videos show.                                         

Photoshop logo evaluation

My image that I made using photoshop was made to look like a school logo. I used the colours green and black from the Ravenswood uniform to make it look mist like a school logo. I used many tools to edit my photo like gradient tool, the magic wand and the brush. I imported and used many images to help me with the overall logo. Some images that I found I used as a texture by adjusting the size and turning down the contrast and making it more transparent. Overall with everything put together it made the logo more realistic and seem a lot like a school logo.

To have improved my photoshop piece of work I could have made the colours look a bit more interesting by maybe turning down he brightness and contrast of some  and editing certain sections of the colour. I could have also chosen a font that maybe wasn't on photoshop and got one of the internet. But in the end I think if I was to improve i would just have to spend more time on learning how to use it  to make my understanding of it a lot clearer.

Photoshop (How to take out background)

1. Go to the image in the bottom right hand corner of the screen.

2. If its a background make it into a layer.

3. Then add a layer mask witch is the button in the bottom right that looks like this 

4. Then go to your brush tool and make sure hardness is at 70% 

5. You can now just click and drag and start deleting the background

6. If you wanted to you can even replace the background after deleting it all.

Waterloo road is on at a Thursday night at 8:00. It is on at this time as not many other TV shows are on a Thursday. If they were on a Saturday or Sunday more people would watch x-factor or Britians got talent so they wouldn't get as many views. One of thew reasons that it is on at 8:00 is that it is before the UK watershed which means there isn't as much drug,sex and violence in it.

The producers if this show try to make the cast have a wide range of personalities so that it appeals to lot of people.

This is the waterloo road logo. It is actually a birds eye view of a classroom full of desks. I think they designed this to make it look like the school has no control over students as they have moved the desks to how they want .

Sunday
Today i went on my laptop to do some homework and i then watched a film. I also read the newspaper again to find out about the news. I also used my phone a lot to keep in touch as i was out a lot. Once again when i had finished doing my homework for that day, i went on my xbox untill i went to bed. I set my alarm on my phone for the morning so that i would wake up on time for school.

Today I have done many things to do with media which include going on my laptop, xbox and watching Xfactor on my television. I played COD on my xbox and went on youtube on my laptop. X factor last for 1 hour and finished at 20:00. I also read the newspaper to find out about the latest news and whats going on around the world.

My Media Diary

Today I have used my phone a lot to call and text other people . I have also read the newspaper to keep  updated with the latest news. I watched a film called transformers that lasted about 2 hours, this took up a lot of my day. After finshing all my homework i went on my xbox for a while then a went to bed.
